I R OFFENDERED

3:<

why can't people make war on something with less violence
like war for bubbles or something?
doesn't sound violent now does it?
but add some radicals on both sides then you got a war
a lose lose situation

"THOSE JEWS ARE BEING NAZIS" if that's not a oxymoron I dont know what is.

I'm not touching that topic with a 10 foot pole.

Jeezus.. That saddens me sir... I'm speechless. All I can think of is how much I hate religion and sad that I can't do anything about such a horrible violent cycle.

I just wish that all the innocent people who don't want anything to do with it stay safe and for those who fight know what they're really fighting for...

Man, you just articulated something that, I as Jew have never really had the appropriate credibility to say. I'm not gonna get all fired up today, as I feel reallllly good. But, I'm totally with you.

Wars really aren't needed.. We have the gift of language for a reason.

Just because you knock someone out doesn't mean they won't get back up to fight you again. The best way to diffuse a situation is using your mind not your fists. And this is coming from a person who has got into a lot of fights.

Yeah, the media boggles my mind on how they make false acquisitions on tragedies like these. It's exactly like the Russian Georgian incident. Russia never invaded Georgia, the Georgians invaded Russia, and Russia simply protected themselves. The news brings fear to peoples lives, everyday.

I

News

I'm sorry about your friend, it must be hard for him to go through that.

For once i agree with Rubber Ninja... id rather watch rtil and Mindchamber go at it.

for the first time in a long time, I'm offended. :U

I'm just waiting patiently for some nukes to go off. Not much else I can do.

interesting.

Basically that sign says stop the jew nazis......what the hell....I've been seeing these protests on the channel 7 news a lot, they seem to be getting violent....I hope nothing happens the magnitude of the Oakland bart shooting riot

Basically this is a fight for ownership of the entire thing, not just Gaza.

The entire middle east is basically a warzone now

Israel is perhaps being demonized because of what could be argued as their political and military advantages over Palestinians and Gazans; they have the support of the U.S. through weapons provision for example. In addition, they have had legal claim over airspace, territorial waters and offshore maritime access. This means that Israel had majority control over imports and exports, including food; as a result, Palestinians have had to look to workers within the World Food Programme in times of food crises. Israel, however, insists that the Gaza strip suffers as a result of the Hamas government. Another factor which has led to Israel's demonizing is perhaps their overcompensation in retaliation to Palestinian attacks under the Hamas government; it is true that almost exclusively Hamas militants or supporters have initiated the attacks, which have resulted in dozens of Israeli injuries, though put into perspective the Israelis have retaliated by invading the Gaza strip and using f-16 fighter jets to target majorly civilian-occupied terriitory including mosques and even a U.N. run school, as just a couple of examples.

It is important to note that simply a friendship with an Israeli whose brother serves on the borders making sure there aren't any approaching Palestinian attackers, though harrowing, isn't exactly getting a view of the bigger picture;

'BECAUSE FOR ALL I KNOW, Israel has been dealing with the situation very politically correct, but more importantly, defensive. While Gaza has been nothing but offensive. Like in basketball, a good defense makes a good offense.'

Exactly; for all you know- the point is that they arguably not dealing in a legal fashion- You liken the war to a game of basketball where Israel is doing the defending- though there have been numerous reports of Gaza border breaches on behalf of Israeli militants as noted above. Would you liken starvation, border breaching and fighter jet attacks to 'politically correct'?

Note that it wasn't the exclusively the U.S. which 'did them a favor and pushed aside some Middle eastern countries' but the U.N. as a collective.

However, I agree that your little run in with some extremists was evidence of general ignorance and that their comments and cases were embarrassing ones. As you say; there are always 2 sides to a coin, the Gaza Strip/Palestine-Israel conflict is no exception. The tit-for tat scenarios are tedious, and the history construed. Perhaps both are to blame, and that foreign intervention on behalf of countries and organizations in past and recent times has fueled the fire. This isn't a pardon for Palestinians- they have initiated several attacks- but simply an observation of the bigger picture; hundreds of deaths/thousands of Palestinian injuries in contrast to a fraction of Israeli victims in the past few years. This isn't my personal attack on Israel either, this is just getting a sense of perspective and giving an insight into why Israel may be demonized.

Another thing:

'people of Gaza'
'the Gaza'
'Gaza'

I think what you mean to say are, respectively, 'Palestinians'/'Gazans' and 'Palestine'

I understand that there is two sides of the coin, and I was only defending Israel's side because of the way they were being demonized. To balance out the extremes if you will. Now, one thing I'm getting a lot from people and is something you just brought up is the fact that more Palestinians have been killed than Israelis.

-Israelis have a more effective military.
-Palestinians are known to use the 'human shield' technique.
-Palestine has a greater number of people.

So it's clear that there are more deaths on the Palestinian side. I also want to make it clear that what I meant by Israel being politically correct, is that they've been dealing with the situation politically correct until these attacks they made. War is inevitable. And there is no good guy or bad guy.

Wow, i hate it when people keep protesting about the war, both Israeli and Gaza-ish (?). What you said is completely true, people keep siding with one part that they forget all about the other one. I side with Israel (obviously, i both live there and i live in the missile borders), but still, people keep forgetting that it is not Gaza which is attacking us, it is the Hammas. Although Gaza is free, we made them suffer just for the Hammas could suffer beforehand, and this is the consiquence.

We have every right to defend ourselves, though, as people forget that we signed most of the U.N. Treaties including human rights, and they (Gaza, Lebanon, Iran etc) did not, so if they have the right to attack us, why do we not have the right to attack them back?

you have every right to fight back. and if Palestine had a more effective military they would have attacked just as hard as Israel attacked Gaza. That's the only thing holding them back from completely obliterating Israelis.

The radicals have taken over... that sounds scaaary. And violent. You should fight them with your HIGH INTELECT http://img66.imageshack.us/my.php?ima ge=hansfk5.jpg

lol at the pic!

People are stupid.

To be honest, the settlement that the U.N gave us doesn't stand this day, we have much more land then they gave us at 1950's, but that's because all those 3 countries attacked us at once, so we took some. I don't think it's right.

The one thing that really disgusts me about our army is the fact that they actually have a youtube channel showing the aircraft bombings that's just revolting I think.

Boo

LazyMuffin is right, here it is:
http://www.youtube.com/user/idfnadesk

I think it's an 'official channel', run in an office by the army.

It's really awesome to see that other people besides Jews caring about Israel. It really hit home because I'm Jewish and going to Israel soon.
