It kinda reminds me of the old 'Inspector' cartoon from the Pink Panther show.
So I'm expecting lots of laughs.
I like the approach but I feel the music score for the intro is just a notch short of being fantastic.
You gonna add inspiration from Cole Porter, John Coltrane, or Miles Davis music to keep it more on the old-school feel.
Youtube those artists and you'll see what I mean. Can you listen and just imagine the car chases, the calm nights in an investigation, the swinging groves of the night clubs and the pretty ladies?
I look forward to this really great cartoon series.
i know those artists. I wanted the intro to have a seperate, slightly more up beat feel to it to contrast the more dark tones of the actual cartoon. this intro will play after the prolog/inciting incident of the story, which is usually something very grim. i thought if something more ironically jolly sounding would follow it'd add to that contrast and make whatever just happened feel more intense.
I call dibs on the forensics guy!

A grimacing introduction to each episode followed by a catchy up-beat.
Kinda like the intro to "Monk", good approach.
Though don't cha think you can add some lyrics to the song? I know it'll be more memorable with some catchy lyrics.

I smiled at the intro. I can't think of what it reminds me of, but that's besides the point.
Although I suck at improv, I will totally try and audition for the female roles. Yay for screaming roles!
