Super 8 Millimeter Short Film

Posted by AlmightyHans - December 2nd, 2009

Harry Kavanaugh is a friend of mine in film school. We had to do Super 8 Millimeter short films. He ask me to act in his and he just finished.

I'll be finished with mine in a few days. Mine's a sci fi Twilight Zone" type episode. We'll see how it turns out. for now check his out.

I've acted in 3 movies total and filmed my own. Once the others are finished i'll probably post them.

This is one, in which i play two characters that look exactly the same. In another I'm like a sort of Charlie Chaplin type goofy dude. and in the 3rd I play a stuck up, LA, douchebag that ends up turning into a zombie. I got to go now, we're shooting the zombie one within the hour.

Wow looks pretty awesome, great idea behind the video.

harry has good ideas

I was hoping he'd catch up to him and horrifically kill him, but that's just me.

I liked it, I like how the whole thing didn't feel like it was shot by the same person following the actors around, as seen in a lot of these little indy things.

nice work, elegant and powerful, nice pacing too.

pretty good, nice acting hans

It's good to see 'different' directions you take in your artistic talents and abilities.

Some artists here ONLY stick to one theme.
-Comedy
-Horror
-Violence
-Hentai
-etc.

The think I appreciate most in an artist...is 'versatility'.

Although you are primarily focusing on comedy right?
With just a bit or noir on the side.
Or is it now going to be vise vera with your upcoming series?

if you mean The T. that's actually turning out to be a bit more dramatic, there is a humorous twist to a lot of what they do, but they'll be deal with some intense stuff. as for this short film, i don't think it was aiming for comedy if that is what you mean.

ah, the search for self, wonderfully done.

I didn't know anywhere would still process super8 film, expensive?

there's only two places in the staes, one in LA and one in New York. Our school thankfully pays for the developing. They mail it out to LA to be developed. takes about a week. it is SO hard to film on actual film.

verr' nice. i like that, since you already have the beard, beanie + hans = EVIIIILLLL

i love the fact it felt like it was putting a message out there that almost anyone can start a new life but at what cost?

great job, tell him i said it was nice!

l8s

my asshole is old and itchy, as I'm sitting here now finished reading your thing while eating the last of this peach cobbler from Thanksgiving I just realized what cooling relief it would be to place the bottom of the cold spoon on the surface of my anus.

Whats the name of the song used? I've always liked it....

Not bad for a silent movie, but I like Doomhammr's live stuff more. Nice piano solo, though.

i would suck his bananas

ha! i get it

Good use of the Amelie soundtrack, and a stuck-up LA zombie sounds redundant.

man i love Super 8 film becuase you can do so many fun things with it (mainly with the framerate). Was it in camera editing by chance?

no. not completely. he filmed the movie twice basically. Once with me as the Homeless dude, and again with the rich guy.

Is that a banana in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?

something about bananas.

awesome movie. i liked it a lot. you gonna post the other movies you're in as well as your own?

yes.

cool beans.

let us know when more arrives. that was amusing.

pretty good in all,nice vid...

Nice film. But could have maybe done with adding a few more things to show they are two different characters. At first it looked kind of like a jump ahead in time when the begger guy had taken off his hat.

I've never seriously thought about using different types of film. The super 8 gave it such a distinctive look. Some shots looks really cool with it. How come they're making everyone shoot with it?

i guess we're learning how to work with the stuff they used to have to deal with.
